Flash is a stunningly beautiful small standard Red Sable Dachshund whose precious person passed away recently. As if this wasn't heartbreaking enough for this sweet boy, his beloved Mom's husband decided to turn Flash in to a kill shelter...that is a shelter who takes animals in and then euthanizes them within days if they have not been adopted out yet. Thank goodness for Flash that his Mom had a close friend who stepped up and insisted on taking Flash instead. Not being able to keep him permanently, Flash soon safely found his way into the ATDR fold instead of the kill shelter his uncaring Dad had in mind for him.
Flash is settling into his loving foster home with his own comfortable little bed and warm blankie, tasty food and plenty of love and kindness from his new foster mom and long four-legged Doxie foster sisters! Flash is a good boy, very sweet and friendly and oh so easy to live with. He obediently goes outside to potty with his foster sisters when the door is opened and his foster mom says "outside," and comes back in when the door is opened again and they hear the word "inside." He's polite at mealtime, never diving at anyone else's food bowl after he's finished his own first. He likes helping in the kitchen, occasionally snuggling next to his foster mom in the big chair and giving sweet kisses. He responds sweetly to a kind voice and gentle hands stroking his luxurious fur, but he misses his Mom and will take a little time to be completely happy again. Stay tuned for more on Flash as his personality unfolds more during the days ahead when he will receive his vetting.
It is felt the Flash would do best in a home with no other male dogs. If you feel that you could give Flash the new and loving forever home he deserves to have that would make him feel secure again, please fill out an adoption application for him to consider. He's a wonderful boy and would love you more than you could ever imagine.
