Sweet little Gretta lost her home when, sadly, her beloved Dad had to go into long-term care. When this happened, there was no place for Gretta to go but to the vet’s office to be boarded. Thank goodness ATDR was called on to save little Gretta from this frightening new life in a crate. She is now settled into a comfortable foster home where she will be cared for and treated as family until ATDR can find a new loving home for her.
Gretta is a typical dachshund and loves to burrow and snuggle! She is active and good on a leash, and like many females perfers to be the queen bee. Gretta is fine with other dogs as long as they are not as dominant as she is. She might do better with a male dog companion, but she is herself, very alpha. She is crate trained and uses the doggie door. Gretta is very smart and is probably always trying to think of a way to get the upperhand! Gretta needs an experienced dachshund home! Gretta is good on a leash but isn't fond on approaching other dogs and is somewhat bossy! She would do better in a home with a yard where she doesn't have to deal with other breeds in a park or sidewalk situation.
If you have it in your heart to give this treasure the happy and secure life she deserves again, please fill out an adoption application for her. She’s precious beyond words and would love you more than you could ever imagine.
