Description:
Petey is a beautiful red standard. He has had professional training and understands hand signals and clicker training. Petey has an "energizer bunny" love of fetching. He is house trained, uses a dog door and is GREAT on the leash. He is a very obedient dog. He listens to what you tell him. If you tell him "hand me your ball" he puts it in your hand, otherwise he lays it at your feet. He's almost obssessed with playing fetch. You have to make him take a break so he won't overheat. This guy is a great candidate for agility training and we'd love to see him go to someone who has an interest in this area. He gets along well with other dogs but Petey is kind of a loner when it comes to the other dogs, he seems to prefer his toys. So he would probably do well as an only dog if he has plenty of toys and chews to keep him busy. He does well with the small children in his foster home, but please keep in mind when we report a dog is good with small children these are children who are taught to love and respect dogs as family members. Petey and his brother Gus came into rescue together and it was first thought that they would need to be adopted together, however, but after observing them in their foster home we've determined the two can be placed individually.
