Description:
Dash was found as a stray in a southern Texas shelter and like most, tested positive for heartworms. It is almost impossible not to get bitten by a mosquito in Texas, so not being on prevention is the kiss of death for most dogs that we find in shelters in the Rio Grande Valley and beyond. We knew that Dash was a special guy the minute we saw him and he has not proven us wrong. He is doing well with just a small cough during the month of medication before treatment and up until now when he got his first injection to kill the adult worms. Another month and a half and sweet Dash should be feeling like a new dog! Stay tuned for more on Dash...he is extra special and definitely worth the wait. In the meantime, if you're looking for a sweet handsome boy to share life with, Dash is reviewing adoption applications while he recuperates! He'll be ready to go before you know it!
