Daisy Mae is a sweet senior silver dapple girl who came into rescue with a couple of younger dachshunds who were probably all related. The family was no longer able to care for them and they were living outside without vaccinations or heartworm prevention - Bingo - they were all heartworm positive!
Daisy Mae has now finished her heartworm treatments successfully and is adjusting well to living inside and working on her potty training. Her foster parents report that she is one of the most intelligent dachshunds they’ve ever had the pleasure of fostering. She’s a complete doll who craves attention and has a way of demanding being in laps when she sees they’re available. You’d never know she’s a senior…she’s as fast as lightning and extremely curious and will investigate any hole or crack in the back yard.
Sadly, Daisy had never had a dental before and lost several teeth after coming to ATDR. Her foster parents put her dry food in a blender along with a little wet food and she’s a regular Hoover vacuuming it up!
Daisy is loving and sweet and will make a wonderful companion to a doting person who lives in a house with a fenced yard for her. She’s looking great and so happy to be in a loving home and ready to find a forever one of her own. If you’re looking for a devoted dog to share life with, please submit an adoption application for Daisy. She’ll fill that spot next to you in your easy chair and in your heart that only a loyal pup can.
