Meet Salty, found as a stray in the big city, most likely dumped on the street by a back-yard breeder finished with him who had so sadly made him live in a crate except when he was needed. His finder contacted us and brought him to our vet to scan for a microchip. Alas, none was found so he stayed with our Austin vet to get all the love and veterinary attention he needed to make sure he was in good health. Salty is a very handsome black and tan boy who has learned to enjoy interacting with people and other dogs in his foster home...something he'd been deprived of entirely in his prior life. Having lived his life in a crate prior to coming to ATDR, Salty is not house-trained and he doesn't like to go outside for any reason... He's a very sweet boy who would benefit so much from a patient person with knowledge of handling/training dogs and/or someone with some dog knowledge who would be willing to work with a dog trainer. He's very deserving of both!
Salty will need a doggy companion in a new home, so if you're looking for a precious boy to share life and your comfortable chair with and you have a sweet natured pup who would welcome a playful friend, please submit an adoption application for Salty. He's a good boy who has already come a long way in his foster home outside of the areas mentioned above and he's very deserving of someone who would be willing to take on a challenge of helping him more...
