Meet Cami, an adorable, red, piebald girl that lost her home when her gentleman owner passed away. She is 8 years old and weighs 12 pounds. Cami is good with other small dogs, but not cats. She loves belly rubs and blankets and will shower you with kisses once she gets to know you! She is crate trained and will sleep all night in her crate, with lots of blankets, without a peep. Cami likes her crate, it is a comfort for her and something she is familiar with. She appears to be house trained and is interested in the doggie door but has not volunteered to go through it yet. Her foster mom says, she has only had one accident and that was on a cold wet day, who could blame her? Do you like going out on a cold, rainy day? Her foster mom also makes a point to take Cami out several times a day to help her get familiar with the yard and know that it's potty time. Cami likes to follow her human around the house, but is also content lying on the couch with lots of blankets. Sometimes she will also wander off to explore parts of the house, her foster mom isn't sure if she is looking for her previous owner, or if she just likes to explore! Whether she is in her crate or on the couch, lots of blankets are a must for this little girl. She loves to burrow, because, well, she is a dachshund after all! Cami will walk in a harness with coaxing, but startles easily at loud noises. Once she gets used to her new neighborhood she will love daily walks. She does enjoy car rides and gets excited when her foster mom puts on her leash. She also gets excited at meal time and will bounce around like a ballerina. Cami will do best in a semi quiet home that will give her reassurance that everything will be ok. This little one's world has been turned upside down, but with love and patience, she will bloom into a happy, loving companion. Her foster mom can tell she has a curious playful personalty, she just needs time to get used to her new surroundings. In short, this precious little girl needs nothing more than to be loved, some time to adjust and a warm lap to land in, OH and lots of blankets! If you can offer that for her, along with a life-long home, please fill out an adoption application, she is waiting for you! Cami is heart worm negative, spayed, current on vaccinations and microchipped.
