Description:
My name is Ginger and I am a very gentle and sweet lady.  Somehow I got lost and found myself in a very scary place, surrounded by cages and barking dogs.  I had never been in a place like that before and it was very unnerving.  I didn't know what to make of it or how long I would be there.  Thank goodness,  a nice rescue lady came to get me and as soon as she took me out of the cage, I was so happy and I felt safe.  When she got me home, I got a nice, warm bath and then went straight to the doctor for my exam and shots.  He said I'm in good shape for an older lady, but I will have to lose several of my teeth. That's alright because I will still have enough left and they will all be cleaned nice and bright.

I am not afraid of any of the dogs here, not even the big one.  Nothing phases me.  I am very calm and relaxed and just like staying on a dog bed or on foster mom or dad's lap.
At night I get to pick whichever bed I want to sleep in and curl up and sleep all through the night in a room with all the other dogs.

I learned the doggie door the first day and I go in and out with the others and I haven't had one accident in the house.  After all, I'm a lady and I wouldn't want to do anything like that.  Foster mom laughs because when I go potty outside, I kick my back feet up really fast and try to cover up what I've done.  I don't like to leave a mess.

I would like to have a family who would be home with me so that I can sit on laps and give kisses and maybe they would let me sleep in the big bed, too.  I like to burrow way down under the covers, just like most doxies.  I am very quiet and don't move around at all.

If you would like an older, well mannered lady who will be happy just being by your side, please think about me.  I am gentle and very sweet and I will give you a lifetime of loyalty and love.

Update: November 8, 2009 - Ginger has had a few seizures within the last month.  We are closely monitoring her to see if they continue and, if so, she will have to take daily medication for the rest of her life.  In between the seizures, she is happy, sweet and you would never know anything was wrong with her.
