Say hello to sweet Evie! Even after losing her beloved 89-year old person to assisted living, she appears delighted to be surrendered into rescue. She rolled around upside down, did a happy dance and got jiggy on day two despite a large bleeding cyst on her tail. She is receiving needed veterinary care and the cyst was removed on September 25. Evie is doing well! See pictures below!
Evie is a deluxe lap sitting velcro girl who prefers to be close to her person, always. She could win prizes for shortest dachshund. The best harness for the walks she enjoys has closures on top. Evie is food motivated, yet takes treats very gently. She enjoys looking out the window on car rides, and she gets along very well with other dogs. She is self confident, refuses to take bossing from other dogs, yet she does not try to boss other dogs around. She is accustomed to being an only dog. Evie likes to sleep all wrapped up like a burrito. She is enormously curious, loves to explore, and is a skilled, if vertically challenged, flying insect hunter!
She knows how to use double flap dog door. Evie will do well in an apartment or a home with a securely fenced yard, she is not a big barker and settles for a nap after a morning walk. If you're looking for a precious companion to share all the good things with, please submit an adoption application for Evie. She would quickly become the best little friend you could ever hope to find.
