Hercules is a sweet, beautiful standard dachshund boy! He has a big head, large, butter soft ears, and a long kissable nose. At 20 pounds, he could stand to put on a little more weight, but only enough to fill him out more. Hercules doesn't seem to know how to play though. His foster mom says she has tried enticing him with plush/squeaky toys, balls, rope toys, etc. He doesn't engage. He would probably benefit from having another dog around to show him how to play -- and to give him a sense of security. Hercules does have a high energy level. We’re still trying to figure out how best to help him burn off his energy since he hasn't taken to playing fetch or with toys. Hercules does get the zoomies so he is encouraged to run when he’s outside. His arch nemesis outside is the tiki solar light in the corner of the yard. One picture shows Hercules mustering up the courage to go sniff the tiki during daylight. At night when the tiki's eyes light up, Hercules will bark at it and keep his distance. Funny boy! Stay tuned as we learn more about Hercules here.
