Samantha is a beautiful yr old black and tan girl.  Her coloring is just gorgeous.  She was found running in traffic and had a frayed rope around her little neck.  Thankfully, someone picked her up and brought her to an ATDR volunteer.  When we introduced her to our pack of nine dachshunds she was really frightened.  But that didn’t last long.  Now she’s just part of the gang.  She is under weight at the moment but that’s changing every day.  She is working hard to gain weight.  She is starved for love and affection and we’re giving her as much as possible.  I’m not sure what she loves more, a belly rub or a good meal.  She appears to be potty trained and uses the doggy door like a champ.  She seems to have a tail fetish.  When you’re holding another dog she wants to jump up and get their tail.  We have been working on training her not to do that (we use a little clown type horn when she does it and she stops right away)  and she doing it less and less every day.
