Hi, everyone, my name is Jack. My family decided that they didn't want me anymore with heartworms and back pain so ATDR brought me to a nice foster mom. Just as I finished my heartworm treatment my back got hurt so bad I could not walk. So off I went to a special surgeon. After that I got better and better! You can see a photo of me in my water therapy and me practicing my border patrol run while I was recovering! I am adorable, even if I was still a little wobbly! And now that I am walking and running again with no stupid, stinky heartworms, I feel better than ever!!
As you can see from one of my pictures, I love children and I love to spend time sitting on laps and being loved on. I also like other dogs and think I might be friends with a cat if I met one. I am very good in the house and I don't lift my leg or do any of those things that most boy dogs do. I like to go for walks on the leash and run in the yard. But, mostly, the thing that I like best is sitting on laps.
Won't you please put in an application for me and take me home with you and never say that you don't want me? I will be a very good boy and love you forever. I'll be waiting for you....you know who you are!!!
UPDATE: Jack has made a full recovery from his back surgery and is walking, running and wanting to play with the rest of his friends. He uses the small ramp with the other dogs, that foster dad built, to go in and out the dog door and has no trouble doing his business. He loves to sit and sun himself on the outside ramp along with his foster brothers and sisters, as shown in one of the pictures. Jack will prefer a forever home that will work with him to discourage excited jumping, jumping off of things, or going down the stairs. A home with no small children would be best. Jack will do best in a crate when no one is at home or gated in an area such as a hallway or kitchen. He is a strong little guy who bounced right back from the surgery with lots of water therapy and physical therapy given to him by his foster mom. The more activity he gets will only continue to build on that therapy. Jack is looking forward to a long and happy life with a new forever home. All he REALLY wants is for you to put him on your lap or by your side so he can be with you and give kisses. He is one of the sweetest boys his foster parents have had. Please give Jack the loving home that he deserves. You won't regret it.
