Description:

Please help this precious angel find her Forever Home!  Angie loves to be around everyone; kids, adults, other dogs.   She is very active and needs to have another canine companion to play with.    She is a wonderful mini smooth-haired dachshund.  We have three other dogs with whom she gets along with very well:  a 12 year old tween female long-haired doxie, a 3 year old male long-haired standard doxie, and our 7 month old male Greater Swiss Mountain Dog (who is presently 75 lbs and gaining).  We also have three young children and she is fabulous with them as well.  She will sit for hours with my daughter as she reads, and it's been nice to have a dog who will happily nestle in a lap, but not always beg for pets and kisses (but she can do that too).  Angie has not acted assertive to any of our dogs; however, there was a bit of a testing period when she first came to us; there was no biting, or assertiveness, but gentle growling if one of our dogs got too close to her space.  I attribute that to her time on the streets and lack of knowledge as to how our "pack" worked.  As I said, we've had her for 7 months and she fits in very well with our three dogs, but she is active and likes to play in the mornings and the afternoons.  During the day she spends a lot of time outside with the youngest two of the three dogs, playing games of wrestling, soaking up the sun, and sniffing out squirrels.  The rest of the time she can be found lying in a patch of sunlight inside, in one of our many dog beds, or snuggled with our Swissy.  In the evenings, after the children are sleeping, her favorite place to be is in a lap; however, as we have only two laps and four dogs, she sometimes has to make due with the dog beds.
