Description:
Hi, my name is Hershey. I have heard my foster mom say I am a 2 year old red smooth female tweenie.
The only family I have ever known could not keep me anymore and so they brought me to my foster mom.
I was very confused and scared at first, but I am adapting to my foster brothers and sisters. And I get to sleep in the big bed every night! I love to snuggle way down under the cover. The first couple of nights I slept in my foster mom's arms because I was nervous, I had never been in the big bed before. My foster mom also says I am learning about being a dachshund. Sleeping in the big bed, getting lots of hugs and kisses and snuggles and rawhide chews and running and playing. I don't jump up on the furniture, I ask to get up and like to get picked up and put on the couch. And I always get picked up on and off the bed. I don't like to go in the backyard alone, at first foster mom always had to go out with me but now I will go out with my foster brothers and sisters. I am protective of my backyard and if I hear noises I do bark. Foster mom tells me to hush and I usually listen pretty well. Now let's talk about this housebreaking thing. I get the concept. When I first came to my foster home I was so confused and nervous I had some accidents, but I have gotten much better. My foster mom usually carries me out in the mornings just to make sure I make it out the door. If I am nervous or scared I might piddle if you reach down to pet or pick me up. If you pay attention to me and teach me your rules... I am a good girl and make it outside. My foster mom took me on a walk the other day and she says I need lots of leash training. But I am smart and I can learn it... no problem. I love everyone of all ages. I don't bit or nip at anyone. I am crate trained and stay in my crate while my foster family is at work or school. I come with my own crate and my favorite Elmo chair that I grew up with. I am a good girl and I am looking for a loving, patient family to call my own forever. I did grow up with a really big dog and now I am around smaller dogs so I can go to a home with other dogs or I
could be an only dog if you have lots of love to give me. I like babies and little kids and am very patient with them. I have never met a cat so it is unknown how I would react, but my foster mom thinks I could learn to live with anyone.

If you think I am the perfect little girl for your family please fill out an adoption application.
