Dixie is a beautiful 7 month old black and tan tweenie that is very shy around humans. She is learning how to be with people and strangers, but appears to have had limited contact with two-leggeds! She is good with other dogs, doesn't seem to mind cats and is starting to warm up to visitors. Dixie came from a backyard breeder that didn't have a lot of contact with the outside world and all of the dogs are very shy and skittish. She is now eating treats out of her foster mom's hand and using the doggie door.
Dixie loves the outdoors - it was basically all she knew before, but she's settled right into the big bed and now can't believe she missed out on that experience before! She will require a patient and understanding home without a lot of noise and activity. She is so sweet and deserving of a better life and is taking her cues from the other dogs in her foster home and doing quite well. Please find a place in your heart for this special baby!
