Kizzie is a beautiful long haired black and tan mini doxie with eyes that will melt your heart. Although she is a senior gal, Kizzie is full of personality and spunk! She loves being pampered and is looking for that perfect family who will treat her like a princess!  

At one time she was a beloved pet, but when her owner was placed in a nursing home, other family members who were supposed to care for Kizzie really let her down. Her medical care was nonexistent, and when she was finally surrendered, she was heart worm positive with skin and dental issues. Her health issues are being addressed and full recovery is expected. She has maintained a funny, playful attitude through it all! If her foster mom is not paying enough attention to her, Kizzie will "talk" until she gets the attention. 

Kizzie is quiet in her kennel at night and is working on potty training. At 9 and 1/2 years old, she is not extremely active. She plays with toys, but is generally happy to be sitting beside a family member snuggled under a blanket or watching what is going on from her favorite chair. She gets along well with other dogs but could also be happy as an "only child." A family with older children who understand how to be gentle with a small pet would be acceptable, and she would also be perfectly happy in a home with a couple or single person. Long periods of crating during the day would not be recommended She is a bit shy at first but will warm up fairly quickly.  She is not leash trained, so a fenced yard would be preferred. She doesn't need much space, just a small area to stretch her legs. 

Kizzie is spayed, current on shots, microchipped and has finished her Heartworm treatment. 

Kizzie is waiting for that person or family who will love and care for her forever. Is she your princess?
