Frankie Taylor is a very handsome Isabella and Tan Dapple boy who was surrendered to an East Texas shelter when his owner could no longer care for him. He was obese at 26 lbs when he arrived and has lost down to a sleek 14 lbs! We suspect that Frankie was kept at home and not socialized or maybe had a bad experience when meeting a new person. He is very fearful of new people and will snap if someone is too forward with him before he is ready. He prefers to be a one person dog and has bonded with his foster dad. He tolerates his foster mom petting him but will not allow her to provide basic care for him such as clean his ears or give him a bath - foster dad has to do these things for him. Frankie is good with the dogs in his foster home - even the dominant female! He is housetrained and loves being outside. He loves to play in the sprinkler and when his foster parents water the plants he wants to bite at the water coming out of the hose! Frankie is not destructive and doesn't require crating when his foster parents are away from home. He does very well when gated in the breakfast area with a couple of his housemates.
Frankie will need an adopter who is experienced in dealing with difficult dogs. He is an extremely loyal and loving companion to his one person but his adopter will have to be willing to keep visitors to the home safe by separating Frankie. At this time we cannot recommend him for a home with children. Do you have the experience to earn the trust of this handsome boy?
