Description: Hi! My name is Annie! What's your name? I am a beautiful red female dachshund. I found myself in rescue when my owners decided they didn't want me any more. My foster mom says I am 14 pounds of sugar. After living in a backyard for the first three years of my life, I am so happy to be inside and learning house manners. I am a fast learner too! I do like to bark at strange people and the cat, but I quite down when my foster mom tells me to. I have a high prey drive and tend to chase anything small that runs from me. I will do best in a home without kids or with older kids (12 years or older) that know how to respect my boundaries and please no cats, because I would really like to know how they taste! I love spending time outside as long as my human is outside with me. Since I was a backyard dog and did not have proper vet care or heartworm prevention, I had those nasty heartworms. But Thanks to All Texas Dachshund Rescue, I have been treated for the heartworms and will be ready for my new home soon. I am a very loving girl, I like to give lots of kisses and I dont like to share my humans lap with other puppies, but I am learning to tolerate them. :) I do like spending time with my foster brothers and sisters, but I would much rather be in a warm lap gazing adoringly into my humans eyes. I am house trained with a doggie door and I love food!! So my new humans will have to be sure and watch my diet because my foster mom says being over weight is bad for my back. I sleep in my kennel at night with out a peep, but hope to move into the big bed in my new home. My foster mom says I am a Velcro dog, but it's just because I have a lot of love to give and I am three years behind! Something funny that my foster mom gets a kick out of is, on the rare occasion that I go outside by myself, I will come running back in through the doggie door and land right in my moms lap and plant a big one right on her kisser! Ha ha! She thinks it's so funny, I quess I'm just so happy to see her after being outside for 5 minuets! I am hoping to find someone that wants me with them all the time, and won't mind my kisses! So that's a little about me, if you can give me the life long home that I deserve and care for all my needs, please go to atdr.org, fill out an application and tell me a little about yourself and let's make a perfect live long match! Kiss kiss!
