Alfie is a young (~2 yrs old) red piebald mini dachshund (11 lbs) who was picked up as a stray and found to be heartworm positive. He has started his heartworm treatment regimen and will be available for adoption once it is complete. Alfie is a sweet boy that gets along well with all other dogs and seems to like everyone he meets, including kids. He was a tiny bit shy when he first came to his foster home, but within 2 days he was running around with his foster siblings and playing. Alfie is playful but not overly energetic. He has already learned to use a doggie door and is making great progress on his potty training. He is crate trained and is comfortable sleeping in his crate or in bed with you. Alfie likes going on walks but prefers to take his time and sniff around rather than really walking! Alfie does not have any cats in his foster home, but would probably do fine with them due to his laid back personality.
