Reggie came to ATDR from CAP where he was surrendered by his owners. He is 3 years old and weighs 15 pounds. He completed heartworm treatment with his owners in the summer of 2012. He is current on all of his shots and has been neutered. Reggie has a medium activity level, loves to hang out on the sofa and watch TV, but sometimes his foster sister can get him going and he will play for a while. He gets along well with all of his foster family, even the Doberman!
Reggie's history from CAP that was filled out by his owners said that he had been around children 5 and older but none younger. It also stated that he has a submissive urination problem, but I have only seen this behavior when introducing him to a new place or new people. With a little patience he gets over it fairly quickly and is right back to bouncing around and playing. I am working on building his confidence by taking him on lots of trips to Petsmart and going to friends houses as much as possible!
Reggie is super sweet, and loves to cuddle and sit in your lap. He has been crate trained but gets very distressed in the closed in spaces. He stays loose in the house and does very well that way. He walks well on a leash, but loves to run and play free in the back yard. He loves his doggie door and uses it as much as he can! He is very quiet for a doxie, only barks while playing or when he wants his dinner. Reggie is a wonderful little man looking for a forever mom or dad that will have time to work with him in making him feel secure in his new home. Once he knows he is safe, he is one of the most wonderful fosters I have had!
