Abbey was rescued from a Houston area animal control facility with only hours to spare! She was thin, dirty and covered in fleas. It was obvious that she had recently weaned puppies. She is believed to be a Dachshund / Basset Hound mix. Abbey weighs about 29 lbs and has the softest coat. She is very sweet with the other dogs in her foster home and doesn’t pay attention to the cat. She enjoys meeting new people and is good with children. She is reliable in the house and doesn’t require crating. Abbey is house trained and uses a doggy door to take herself outside. She loves plush, squeaky toys and playing with other dogs. Abbey still needs some time to recover from heartworm treatment and to be spayed before she is ready for adoption. Please don’t let Abbey’s larger size put you off! She has absolutely the best temperament and would fit into almost any family. Please consider adding this beautiful girl to your family!
