Description:

This handsome boy is Gus. He and his beautiful sister Scarlett very sadly lost their beloved dad to a fatal traffic accident. When a close family friend contacted ATDR, of course we immediately took this sweet pair into our fold. They miss their daddy but are now sharing life in a comfortable foster home having their veterinary care brought up to speed.

His foster mom reports that Gus likes to be a parrot and sit on your shoulder or the back of the sofa cushions and wrap himself around your neck with his head in the crook of your neck. If he isn't there he is either on your lap or squished up as close to your thigh as he can get. He is so-so with cats. If the cat is confident and doesn't run, he doesn't care about it. As soon as he knows one is afraid of him, he barks to try to get them to run. If the cat were to run, I think he would chase it. He likes going on walks and is pretty good on a leash. He is good with other dogs. He is a bit needy and wants to be nearby. He was a slight bit standoffish when he arrived but that didn't last long. He was likely pee pad trained in his prior home since so far he will only pee and poop on a pad or towel after coming back inside the house! He does pretty well in a crate.

Gus and Scarlett both can be barkers so will not be good for apartment or condo life. They will both need a house with a securely fenced yard. If you can find it in your heart to give Gus or both of these precious babies a loving home, please submit an adoption application. Either or both would soon become the best little friends and companions you could ever hope to share life with.
